I love you DeGeega.
We have a word specialist in our house. Addie. She makes up words. She learns words really fast too. Like, museum, stethescope, delectible, exhausted. She says these words in context, and pronounces them perfectly. She has always been our word girl.
Have you ever said "I love you" and recieved the response "I love you more?" Well, we say it all the time in our house, and it turned into a game really....
"I love you more."
"I love you MORE"
"I love YOU more"
"I LOVE you more."
It never ends, and no one can really win, can they? Addie figured it out.
She finally blurted out..."I love you DA GEEGA" (da-gee-ga).
"What does Da Geega mean?"
"It means lots and lots and lots."
She won. She wins every time. So now, when she says "I love you Mama and Dad," and we resond, "We love you more!" she will always reply, "I love you Da Geega." Can't top that, can you? But then really, no one can top anything she is. She is just the most fun I have ever had. I love you, Addie. (More than 'Degeega', but I won't tell her that:)
PS: thank you so much for all your wonderful input below! I just love hearing what you have had to say, and it is really helpful for me! I am still deciding, but I have decided to make the chalkboard print into some darling bookplates. Still deciding on the rest, but I have a pretty good idea! Thank you guys! You are the best!

Ack. What a darling.
(And YEA! for adorable bookplates!)
Addie is adorable. I love the bookplates. I would also love to see a set of bookplates with a boy featured when you have time. I would love to put a bookplate in some of Garrett's books.
That sounds so much like my oldest son - we have the 'i love you more' conversation A LOT, and he also is our little word guy. Funny - he started making up words recently too.
(I LOVE your art, and LOVE your blog BTW)
I love your darling bookplates Da Geega!

Addie sounds like such a delightful and clever girl.
What a great idea to use the chalkboard print as bookplates. They will add such a stunning personal touch to so many little peoples (and maybe not so little people!) books around the world.
Hey Sare
I love to read your blog. I sometimes see my kids in yours--funny we're going through the same things. I looked at the back of Mazie's ankles as she was walking through the dining room yesteray--dimples instead of hard lines--and remembered seeing your little ankles look the same when you were her age.
Anyway. We've been playing the "I love you as much as . . ." game this past week. We were driving down the street after a somewhat frustrating outing and Henry popped out "Momma, I love you as much as all the planets." I said, "I'm so glad to hear you say that 'cause sometimes you say you don't like me and that makes me feel bad." He said, "I only say that when you're mean." I had to laugh out loud.
